What causes cataracts?
A cataract is when your eye's natural lens becomes cloudy. Proteins in your lens break down and cause things to look blurry, hazy, or less colourful. Cataracts can also arise because of diabetes, unprotected exposure to sunlight, prolonged use of corticosteroid medications, or hereditary factors.
Untreated cataracts can impact vision causes blurriness, double vision, fading or yellowing of colours, impaired night vision, or blindness.
